Day 148

Way behind on this blog as I've been trying to put my efforts on photo challenges online, but I'm still attempting to keep it going.

This was blurrier than I wanted, but I could not resist snapping a pic of this RED HOT burning car on route 3 last week on my drive home from work.  The asphalt is melted and you can still see where this happened a week later!!  Rolled down my window to get this show in the car while driving by and you could literally feel the heat 4 lanes away from it - amazing.  Reports say everyone involved was OK.

Day 138

Playing catch-up again with random photos.  My old MKV GTI in black with some photoshop:  18mm, ISO-100, f/8, 1/200sec)

Day 137

I'm back on vacation... sadly, only in my head. (55mm, ISO-100, 1/20sec, f/7.1)

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Day 136

Somewhere I would rather be on this dreary day: (48mm, ISO-100, 1/250sec, f/11)

Day 135

I'm getting so far behind but I'll wrap up my telephoto zoom lens week with one of my favorite summertime beverages.

Got a new flash for my birthday so we'll see if I can incorporate that into my future plans on here.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Day 134

Came home today to find 2 doves just hanging out on my front steps.  Thankfully camera was near by!  (300mm, ISO-200, 1/500sec, f/5.6)

Monday, May 14, 2012

Day 133

Still going with the telephoto zoom lens week - oh how we have so many of these little critters in our back yard.  Took all of 5 minutes of sitting on the back deck to catch this guy in the action.  (300mm, ISO-800, 1/200sec, f/6.3)

Sunday, May 13, 2012

Day 132

Doesn't the collar say it all for my little schnoodle Daisy staring longingly out the window just wanting to get out there and chase squirrels!  (210mm, ISO-400, 1/200sec, f/5, flash (bounced off ceiling))

Saturday, May 12, 2012

Day 131

Back on topic with telephoto lens week.  I'm really liking how the detail came out on this one and yet the flag is so fluid.  The rain helped. (300mm, ISO-400, 1/250sec, f/5.6)

Friday, May 11, 2012

Day 130

And today's picture is just because I never get myself in in photos as I'm always behind the camera - so it's ME!  Wish I could get more light in the rock gym to bump up the ISO but this will have to do until I get my new flash in order.  (8mm, ISO-1600, 1/40sec, f4.5)

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Day 129

Ok I'm off subject for the day but had to post this as my first try at multiple pics merged into one photo.  Doug and I had the gym to ourselves on Friday and I took this as a great opportunity to set up the tripod and go to town.  This is just pic one, more to follow.  (8mm, ISO-1600, 1/40sec, f/4.5)

Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Day 128

A little random but I was sitting on my back deck and realized the bolts holding it in are quite interesting... as far as bolts go.  (170mm, ISO-1250, f/5, 1/320sec)

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Day 127

Looks like it's telephoto week!  I have a cheap telephoto lens 55-300mm that I rarely use but I think it's time to get it out and see what I can do with it.  I'll start off with a little patriotism. (55mm, ISO-200, f/11, 1/100sec)

Monday, May 7, 2012

Day 126

Last day of my super wide angle 8mm week and we end with a fun one.  My little schnoodle Daisy with a gigantic head thanks to this crazy lens and closeups :-)  Edited for fun content: (8mm, ISO-100, f/4.5, 1/50sec)

Sunday, May 6, 2012

Day 125

Took the wife and her Volvo C30 out for a lovely Sunday ride through the country.  Stopped for a photo-shoot:  (8mm, ISO-100, f/13, 1/13sec)

Saturday, May 5, 2012

Day 124

Found this interesting landmark down by the local mill: (8mm, ISO-100, 1/10sec, f/18)

Friday, May 4, 2012

Day 123

Another dreary day for my 8mm wide angle week = gloomy photo.  Train tracks seem to go on for infinity with this lens. (8mm, ISO-400, f/11, 1/25sec)

Thursday, May 3, 2012

Day 122

Keeping the theme alive we have another wide angle of the queen of the house sulking in her doggy tent.  Perfect dark, dreary photo for this rainy day.  I took this about 3 inches from her nose which she was not to fond of either.

Edited in Lightroom for color content and then exported 5 separate exposures for the high dynamic range effect.  Merged in Dynamic Photo-HDR editing program.  My first .RAW photo on the blog!

(8mm, ISO-800, f/4.5, 1/20sec)

Couldn't decide which I liked more, so you all get both, left one has a ton more contrast and dynamic light filters.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Day 121

Not sure how I feel about this one, but was determined to get my photo in today even if it was dark outside.  Long exposure of the front of my house after dark:  (8mm, ISO-100, 10sec, f/5)

Day 120

THEME #1: 8mm Super Wide Angles

Alright, so let's start off theme week #1 with all 8mm super wide angle shots as this has come to be my new favorite lens for landscapes.  Everything you see this week will be shot at 8mm, most likely landscape photos, although you might just catch a strange looking closeup or two as this lens is quite a bit of fun.  (8mm, ISO-100, f/9, 1/125sec)
