Sometimes I have to admit, my wife's 2008 Volvo C30 R-Design in Passion Red is much more photogenic than my GTI!  Now that is RED!  What a great car - 5 cylinder turbo with Volvo safety AND our dog loves the huge rear window.  (35mm, ISO-100, 1/160sec., f/7.1)

Day 24

Pretty Things micro brews made right here in Boston, MA.  This Barley Wine brew was an amazing pair with our steak this evening - perfectly thick and strong beer.  Too bad the snow is all melted now!  (85mm, ISO-125, f/5, 1/125sec)

Plain and simple - it's 5 degrees out and everything is frozen.  Including me taking this picture, haha.  Although it inspired me to break out my telephoto zoom lens that has been collecting dust lately.  (205mm, ISO-640, 1/400sec, f/5)

Random objects sometimes make the best subjects.  Also could not pass up the crazy ice pattern on our back deck.  Now we just need some more snow and with a couple inches on the way you can bet tomorrow will be snow related! (85mm, ISO-100, f/1.8, 1/125sec)

Another scenic picture for the blog today.  Stopped by the river on my way home from work today and the half frozen, half running water made for a nice scene.  I might just turn the rest of this week into scenery instead of objects/people/etc.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring! Obviously some editing went in on this one, but this is the Kilauea Lighthouse in Kilauea, HI (Kauai Island).  It has a bird sanctuary and breathtaking views of the Kauai coast.  There is a lookout of the lighthouse before you get there, and could not resist this photo.  (High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photo)

So my wife and I ran into a number of trees at the Cranberry Bog in Carlisle, MA that were ravaged by beavers!  Couldn't resist a pic or two so here we have today's post.  I was quite impressed with their work as they took down a ton of trees!!  (85mm, ISO200, 1/125sec, f/3.5)

Since I originally got the idea for this off the GTI car forum, and I became obsessive with photos due to my last GTI here is another submission from the VW scene.  For those that don't know, we just bought this new 2012 VW GTI about 3 months ago now and loving every minute of it.  (85mm, ISO100, f/1.8, 1/1250sec)

This one goes out to all the VW GTI MKVI owners and kliimotorwerkes (www.golfmk6.com forums) for making this vinyl in the first place. It's amazing how much attention this little detail gets!! For all of those who don't know where this came from, it's the rear emblem on my 2012 VW GTI with a custom vinyl inlay to match the VW interlagos (plaid) seat design.
