Day 31

Caught a sunset down by this river in Westford, MA and found some awesome sky color and even the ducks decided to cooperate for my picture :-)  (18mm, ISO-100, 1/80sec, f/5)

Day 30

So I had a lot of fun playing with yesterday's photo, so thought I'd give it another go.  Don't worry, there is still another 336 days to experiment ;-)  (55mm, ISO-200, 1/125sec, f/5.6)

Day 29

Could not resist this photo today.  Was playing around with my editing software with a pic of some broken ice and this is what came out.  Looks surreal, but I promise I did take this as an actual picture originally!  (55mm, ISO-200, 1/320sec, f/5.6)

Day 27

Here's one for the dark and gloomy day we had here today.  Hopefully sunnier days are ahead!  (29mm, ISO-320, f/20, 1/50sec)

Day 26

Sometimes I have to admit, my wife's 2008 Volvo C30 R-Design in Passion Red is much more photogenic than my GTI!  Now that is RED!  What a great car - 5 cylinder turbo with Volvo safety AND our dog loves the huge rear window.  (35mm, ISO-100, 1/160sec., f/7.1)

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Day 25

Wife happened to have her sewing machine out and I could not resist.  I pulled out some of the color in this but it didn't have much to begin with so not much change.  (53mm, ISO-1250, 1/40sec, f/5.6)

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Day 24

Pretty Things micro brews made right here in Boston, MA.  This Barley Wine brew was an amazing pair with our steak this evening - perfectly thick and strong beer.  Too bad the snow is all melted now!  (85mm, ISO-125, f/5, 1/125sec)

Monday, January 23, 2012

Day 23

Keeping that icy theme going still - and you gotta give me a little credit for the water droplet :-)  Hopefully the house will start to thaw out over the next few days. (85mm, ISO-1250, 1/2500sec, f/2)

Sunday, January 22, 2012

Day 22

Plain and simple - it's 5 degrees out and everything is frozen.  Including me taking this picture, haha.  Although it inspired me to break out my telephoto zoom lens that has been collecting dust lately.  (205mm, ISO-640, 1/400sec, f/5)

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Day 21

Finally got some snow in MA, and of course Daisy had to have some fun in it.  Although shaggy as she is, still a ham in front of the camera.  (85mm, ISO-1600, 1/320sec, f/7.1)

Friday, January 20, 2012

Day 20

Random objects sometimes make the best subjects.  Also could not pass up the crazy ice pattern on our back deck.  Now we just need some more snow and with a couple inches on the way you can bet tomorrow will be snow related! (85mm, ISO-100, f/1.8, 1/125sec)

Thursday, January 19, 2012

Day 19

Another scenic picture for the blog today.  Stopped by the river on my way home from work today and the half frozen, half running water made for a nice scene.  I might just turn the rest of this week into scenery instead of objects/people/etc.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring! (18mm, ISO-100, 1/40sec, f/22)

Day 18

Obviously some editing went in on this one, but this is the Kilauea Lighthouse in Kilauea, HI (Kauai Island).  It has a bird sanctuary and breathtaking views of the Kauai coast.  There is a lookout of the lighthouse before you get there, and could not resist this photo.  (High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photo)

Day 17

In spirit of some actual snow this winter in MA (2" this morning!), I give you my snow-loving schnoodle, Daisy :-)  (36mm, ISO-100, 1/160sec, f/4.5)

Monday, January 16, 2012

Day 16

Recently joined the Boston Rock Gym and thought I'd share a photo of my friend Noël defying the laws of gravity. My poor friends have to put up with me taking my camera everywhere, but I think they are warming up to it!

Day 15

After a generous donation of her lovely hair, I convinced my wife to be my subject for today.  13 inches cut and donated, and I think she looks beautiful with the short and long look :-)  (Cropped and joined before and after photos)

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Day 14

Finally a pic with some depth that I didn't use my new 85mm!  (55mm, ISO-3200, 1/60sec, f/5.6)

Friday, January 13, 2012

Day 13

Nothing scarier on Friday the 13th than my schnoodle's moose toy!  Couldn't resist this random picture for a Friday afternoon - enjoy!  (55mm, ISO-6400, 1/13 sec, f/7.1)

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Day 12

In the spirit of snow since we got our first 1/2" today for the winter season, I thought this pic was fitting.  We are flying this flag out front of our house in hopes that it will bring more so we can finally hit the mountains this year! (85mm, ISO-100, 1/200sec, f/1.8)

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Day 11

Alright so here comes the random photo of the week.  But I love the color and contrast here and the simplicity of the pavement while the mountains in the background.  You either like it or hate it!  (23mm, ISO100, 1/160sec, f/11)

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Day 10

Wow, my poor dog needs a haircut very badly, but she's still a good sport when it comes to photos.  She's a Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) and her name is Daisy, just about 1.5 years old now.  (85mm, ISO3200, 1/50sec, f/1.8)

Monday, January 9, 2012

Day 9

Trying some more scenery today - just loved how the natural framing worked out in this one.  Enjoy!!  (20mm, ISO320, 1/40sec, f/22)

Sunday, January 8, 2012

Day 8

So my wife and I ran into a number of trees at the Cranberry Bog in Carlisle, MA that were ravaged by beavers!  Couldn't resist a pic or two so here we have today's post.  I was quite impressed with their work as they took down a ton of trees!!  (85mm, ISO200, 1/125sec, f/3.5)

Saturday, January 7, 2012

Day 7

Still feeling the black and white theme so here we go with submission #7.  Tried out this Terrible brew and was worth every dime if you are into premium beers.  From Quebec, its fruity and spicy and has an incredibly full flavor.  (85mm, ISO3200, 1/60sec, f/1.8)

Friday, January 6, 2012

Day 6

Since I originally got the idea for this off the GTI car forum, and I became obsessive with photos due to my last GTI here is another submission from the VW scene.  For those that don't know, we just bought this new 2012 VW GTI about 3 months ago now and loving every minute of it.  (85mm, ISO100, f/1.8, 1/1250sec)

Day 5

Day 5 - Recently went to a family member's wedding and caught this close-up early on in the night. Special thanks goes out to all our military of all types on this one.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Day 4

This one goes out to all the VW GTI MKVI owners and kliimotorwerkes (www.golfmk6.com forums) for making this vinyl in the first place. It's amazing how much attention this little detail gets!! For all of those who don't know where this came from, it's the rear emblem on my 2012 VW GTI with a custom vinyl inlay to match the VW interlagos (plaid) seat design.

(85mm fixed telephoto, ISO100, 1/640sec, f/1.8)

Day 3

A little farm, a little panorama, a little editing, and a little moon
(45mm, ISO100, 1/160sec., f/7.1) - 7 image panoramic (vertical)
