Hey, I love your photos. Especially this one. I really want to find a river or stream to try this on (sorry for idea stealing!!! :P). I have a couple questions: were those rocks smooth to begin with or did the long shutter speed promote it's smoothness? I know it smoothens the water, but its interesting how the rocks look so much more peaceful. The other things is I was wondering if you wanted to do a switch? Ya know- I follow you, you follow me- encourage each other and keep each other on top of it? It's a hard project - but i can't wait to see the results!!! http://hunterwilliamsphoto.wordpress.com/ <-- my blog..Ill follow you. (You dont have to follow me..Im following you because I love your photography ;)
Glad you are enjoying my photos! This river did have some smooth rocks from the get-go since its a Hawaiian (Kauai) river too - sure doesn't look like the rivers by me in MA. No need for a tripod at 1/20sec just have a steady hand and take a deep breath before shooting. The colors on some of the rocks just made this work much better than some dingy gray ones too.
I'm officially following your blog, feel free to comment away here and I will do the same. Looking to get much better as the year progresses!
